Bella Clark wishes to acknowledge the custodians of this land, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation and their Elders past, present and emerging. Sovereignty has never been ceded.
To open a dialogue, raise awareness and show my support and solidarity towards the Black Lives Matter movement, I’ll be raffling off a Love Ring, with 100% of the proceeds donated to Djirra. I support the incredibly crucial work that Djirra does in preventing and addressing the family violence that Aboriginal women and their children experience across Victoria. Djirra is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation that supports Aboriginal women and children’s safety and wellbeing that is extremely important and deserves funding and support. I offer my support regarding the lives of Aboriginal women and children in Victoria, and I hope that you will, too.
Djirra provides culturally safe and specialist family violence legal assistance and representation. Djirra also delivers early intervention and prevention programs, and advocates identifying systemic issues for law reform. Additionally, Djirra provides support for women in prison and raises cultural awareness and community education. Culture is celebrated at Djirra, and practical support is available to Aboriginal women experiencing family violence or have in the past.
